Phillies Raising Ticket Prices

The Phillies have sold out 123 straight games, they’ve got a waiting list for season tickets… the law of supply and demand would tell you that a price increase is in order. The team agrees.

John Weber, vice president of sales and ticket operations, said most of the increases will be $2 to $3 per ticket.

The top increase is $5 for certain seats in the lower bowl at the ballpark. Not increasing are single-game tickets in the pavilion deck, terrace deck and the rooftop bleachers.

The question is, will they spend some of this new revenue to keep Jayson Werth? Phillies fans are probably ok with a small ticket increase, but expect complaints if the hike comes in the same offseason that fan base perceives some cheapness on behalf of the ownership.

The Phillies have already let first base coach Davey Lopes, who has done a great job with their running game, walk because of money.
