Knicks Lead Sixers by Two at the Half

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Elton Brand scored a team-high 20 points and added seven rebounds, and Jrue Holiday finished with 19 points and eight assists, as the Philadelphia 76ers earned a 106-96 win over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Lou Williams had a solid game with 19 points for Philadelphia, which had dropped five of six to open the season, but got its five-game road trip off on the right foot.

Rookie forward Evan Turner, getting his first career start in place of Andre Iguodala, who missed the contest with a strained right Achilles tendon that ended his streak of 252 consecutive starts, chipped in with 14 points and 10 boards in the win.

Amare Stoudemire went for a game-best 21 points and 15 rebounds for the Knicks, who were coming in after posting wins over Chicago and Washington. Toney Douglas had 17 points off the bench.
