Jimmy Rollins played only seven games this season for the Phillies before sustaining a calf injury that sent him to the disabled list. Earlier this week, he was finally activated, but now he's heading right back where he came from.
The Phillies today placed Jimmy Rollins on the 15-day disabled, one day after the shortstop aggravated a calf injury that forced him to miss 30 games this season.
When Rollins has been able to play in 2010, he's been very valuable at the plate, a pleasant surprise considering his relatively unremarkable 2008. The Phillies, despite playing without Rollins for most of the season, still retain a lead in the NL East.
