Flyers And Hamhuis Reportedly Not Close On A Deal

CSN Philly’s Tim Panaccio reported on twitter that the Flyers are not close to a deal with newly acquired defenseman Dan Hamhuis. If Hamhuis is not signed by July first he will become a unrestricted free agent.

Broad Street Hockey compared this deal to a previous deal with Nashville.

For comparison, let’s look to the June 2007 trade with Nashville that saw Scott Hartnell and Kimmo Timonen, two guys who were set to hit unrestricted free agency, come to Philadelphia. Almost immediately after that trade, the Flyers agreed to terms with those two players.

Flyers GM Paul Holmgren has about a week to get a deal done.
