Shooting Outside Michael Vick's Birthday Party

There was a non-fatal shooting outside of a nightclub In Virginia Beach where a birthday party was being held for Eagles QB Michael Vick.

The alleged victim in the case, who was taken to the hospital in "good" condition, was actually a co-defendant of Vick's in the federal dog-fighting case that sent him to prison. The victim, identified as Quanis Phillips, was sentenced to 21 months in prison for his part in the dog-fighting ring.

Vick's attorney Larry Woodward said that Vick was neither involved in nor was he present at the time of the shooting.

"The reports that say someone was shot at his party are not correct. The shooting occurred outside the place," said Lawrence H. Woodward Jr., Michael Vick's attorney. "Mike is not involved in any way. Michael left somewhere around 2 a.m."

The Eagles have released a statement on the matter.

"We are aware of the incident that occurred in Virginia early this morning and are in the process of gathering all of the facts. Until then, we will not have any comment on this matter."
