With the MLB trade deadline looming, the Phillies have made their first of what is likely to be a few roster moves. Kyle Kendrick has been sent to AAA and Andrew Carpenter has been called up in his place.
↵Kendrick’s next start would have been Saturday and as of now Carpenter would be the guy to make that start… however if the Phillies swing a trade in the next couple of days, the new guy could very well make that start. Todd Zolecki reported today that Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr implied that this was a real possibility. JA Happ, who is scheduled to start tonight in minors, could also be a candidate to make Saturday's start.
