Report: Astros Close To Asking Roy Oswalt To Approve Trade To Phillies

AOL's Ed Price has a source that tells him that the Astros "may be close to putting the ball in [Oswalt's] court" in regards to a trade to Phillies. Oswalt has a full no trade clause and therefore would have to approve any move.

Oswalt is signed through 2012, but would carry a major price tag in terms of dollars.

Many teams have downplayed the possibility Oswalt would get traded at all, because he is owed more than $7 million for the rest of this year and $16 million next year, in addition to either a $16-million option or $2-million buyout for 2012.
