Moyer Rules Out Surgery

Jamie Moyer has ruled out surgery on his left elbow.

Moyer told mlb.com that he is scheduled for additional tests on the injury Tuesday “and that would be the final step in diagnosing the injury, and then I think I’ll probably get a second opinion.” The left-hander suffered a sprained ulnar collateral ligament and strained flexor pronator muscle, according to last week’s MRI, and hasn’t ruled out returning to action this year. But at his age, he knows one thing: “I don’t intend to have any surgery.”
