The arena that started out as the Corestates Center, then became the First Union Center, only to be renamed the Wachovia Center has unsurprisingly changed it’s name again. Wells Fargo has now absorbed Wachovia and inherited the naming rights to the arena.
↵↵↵“As the owner and operator of the arena, Comcast-Spectacor is honoring the contract as it was agreed upon with the bank that the successor shall keep the naming rights of the facility,” said Luukko. “Therefore, we will change the name of the arena to reflect the name change from Wachovia to Wells Fargo and continue to operate the arena as the world class facility which it has become.”

The agreement for the naming rights runs through 2025, so the odds are pretty good that we may very well see a few more names on the building before they eventually tear it down one day.
