Recap: Phillies Shut Out Dodgers 2-0

Last night, Phillies starter Kyle Kendrick was awful and the bullpen was arguably even worse. Tonight, starter Roy Oswalt was superb and the bullpen was arguably even better.

Oswalt went seven shutout innings giving up 5 hits and striking out 5 in his home debut. Ryan Madson & Brad Lidge closed it out striking out 4 of the Dodgers last 6 batters.

Domonic Brown & Raul Ibanez had the only two RBIs of the game. Ibanez stretched his career long hit streak to 18 games. Jimmy Rollins extended his streak to 8 games.

It wouldn't be a Phillies game without someone going down injured... this time it was Ross Gload who pulled up lame on a double and had to leave the game. The Phillies did get some good news on the injury front tonight though as Shane Victorino went 3-4 with a triple, HR, and 3 RBI in a rehab start.

Joe Blanton takes the hill tomorrow to face Clayton Kershaw.
