Recap: Phillies Shutout By Mets Knuckleballer Dickey

Flushing, NY (Sports Network) - R.A. Dickey threw a one-hit shutout and the New York Mets continued their amazing home shutout streak of the Phillies with a 1-0 triumph in the opener of a three-game set.

Dickey (8-5) bounced back from his last start on Sunday in which he gave up six runs against the Phillies on August 8. In Friday's game, he struck out seven and walked just one to help the Mets win back-to-back games for the first time since June 22-23.

Carlos Beltran drove in David Wright with a sixth-inning double for New York, which has taken six of 10 from Philadelphia this season. The Mets have blanked the Phillies all four times at Citi Field this year.

Cole Hamels (7-9) was the tough-luck loser as he gave up just one run on five hits with two walks and eight strikeouts for the Phillies. Hamels also had the lone base hit.
