Recap: Phillies Take Rubber Game From Mets In Rainy New York City

Shane Victorino knocked in one run and scored another as the Phillies beat the New York Mets 3-1 in a rain soaked affair at Citi Field.

While Victorino knocked in the Phillies first run, it should be noted that Jimmy Rollins' effort on the basebaths is what really produced it. After blooping a single to left, Jimmy stole both second and third before Shane doubled him home.

Good Kyle Kendrick showed up and went 6 2/3 strong innings giving up just one run on a solo homer to Jose Reyes. Ryan Madson and Brad Lidge(who has never blown a save against the Mets) pitched a perfect ninth as the Phillies pulled even with the San Francisco Giants in the wild card race. They still sit 2.5 games behind the Braves for the NL East lead.
