Last week, Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez beat up his father in law in front of his and his teammate’s families after a game. He was arrested, suspended, and charged with assault.
↵He returned during the second game of the Phillies series and actually pitched… That’s only odd because as it turns out he injured his thumb during the assault on his father in law and now requires surgery. He’s expected to be out for the season.
↵I suppose the Mets can’t control if one of their players goes nuts and beats someone up in their “family room” at Citifield… but presumably they should have known if a guy was injured and required season ending surgery before sending him out to pitch. I think it’s safe to say that the Mets are clearly not the most well run organization in baseball…
