Ed Snider And Frasier Launch Right Wing TV Network

Kelsey Grammer, of 'Frasier' fame, along with Ed Snider, chairman of Comcast Spectacor and the guy in charge of running the 76ers and Flyers, have launched a new TV network aimed exclusively at conservatives called "Rightnetwork."

The network will offer a mixture of documentaries, reality television shows, stand-up comedy and sitcoms targeted at conservative viewers.

The interesting thing is that Ed Snider's buddies at Comcast will not be carrying the channel.  As of now you can see shows on demand through verizon or if you own a Nokia phone.

You have to wonder whether Comcast likes Snider, who is ostensibly their figurehead for the Philly sports teams, getting involved with something so overtly political. Generally, sports is seen as an escape from the nonstop barrage of politics and what not... Snider has previously pushed his politics when he invited then vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin to drop the puck at a 2008 game. Fans reacted by booing.

I would send the same message to Ed Snider as I would to the owner of any Philly sports team. It's not that we don't like your politics, it's just that we don't care. Sports is a place where regardless of your political preference, your education, your economic situation, ect that a city can all get together behind one thing. Let's try to not infect it with politics as well.
