With the Braves loss to the Nationals earlier today, the Phillies have a chance to take a three game lead in the NL East and earn a sweep of the Florida Marlins in the process. They'll be sending Roy Halladay to the mound to do it.
Halladay will be opposed by a stream of Marlins relievers after the team lost two starters for the season. Reliever Jorge Sosa will start the game.
The team will still be without Jimmy Rollins, who has re-joined the squad but is still nursing a hamstring injury. Rollins said he hopes to be fully back by the end of the regular season.
"I hope so," said Rollins, who has not played since leaving last Wednesday's win over the Marlins in the third inning with a sore right hamstring. "Studies show, even if it's a mild hamstring, even though the doctors like to say 7 to 10 days, it's usually 3 weeks. And that's at the mildest, before I can go and do what I need to do. But I'm not going to have 3 weeks. Three weeks, that puts us right at the playoffs, so I'm definitely going to try to do my best to come back before that."
Jimmy could potentially be available to pinch hit from the left side, but as long as the Phils keep winning and maintain their lead in the division there's really no reason to rush him back.
