The Braves had cut the lead to two with runs in the fifth and sixth (could have been more if not for Shane’s right arm) until a two out walk by Ryan Howard and a laser beam off the left field wall by Jayson Werth put two on for Ibanez off Braves lefty Mike Dunn. Taking some junk for strikes, Raul waited for the pitch he wanted and jerked it into the right field corner, scoring both Howard and Werth.
Halladay has been mediocre thus far, striking out only two in six innings of work. How far he goes into the game will depend on how quickly he can get out of the seventh. But with rested Chad Durbin and Ryan Madson available in the pen, Charlie should feel comfortable pulling Roy after seven with a few runs of cushion for the back end.
