With the Twins falling to the Tigers and the Yankees losing to the Red Sox, the Philadelphia Phillies now own baseball's best record at 93-61 or a .604 winning percentage. That's the best percentage since Carlton's '77 team finished with a .623 percentage and 101 wins. Eight games remain and while getting 100 seems unlikely, this team has already won 11 in a row and nothing is impossible.
After a Braves 8-3 loss in Washington, the magic number for our Fightins is at a minuscule two. Now up seven, it's hard to imagine we were seven back in July. That's a fourteen game swing for those keeping track at home.
