The Phillies have named Domonic Brown & Scott Mathieson as winners of the Paul Owens award, which is given to the top position player and pitcher in the Phillies minor league system.
↵↵↵Brown, ranked the top prospect in the minor leagues by Baseball America in July, hit a combined .327 with 22 doubles, four triples, 20 home runs, 68 RBIs and 17 stolen bases in 93 games for Double-A Reading and Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
↵Mathieson, 26, went 3-6 with 26 saves and a 2.80 ERA in 54 games for Lehigh Valley. He struck out 83 in 641/3 innings.

Mathieson’s honor is especially impressive given that he has come back from two Tommy John surgeries.
↵The Phillies minor league player of the month, is the awesome named Tagg Bozied.
↵↵Tagg Bozied, who finished the 2010 season as the Eastern League’s batting champion (.315), was named as the Philadelphia Phillies Minor League Player of the Month.
↵The 31-year-old enjoyed a solid season in Reading, leading the team in batting average, home runs (27), RBIs (92), doubles (29), OBP (.402), SLG (.631) and OPS (1.033).
