Temple Basketball: Owls Blow Out Saint Joe's 72-54 At The Palestra

Scootie Randall posted 17 points and seven rebounds as the Temple Owls handled the Saint Joseph's Hawks, 72-54, in an Atlantic 10 Conference tilt at The Palestra.

Randall made 6-of-9 field goals, including 3-of-5 from long range, as the Owls (15-5, 5-2 A-10) defeated SJU for the eighth consecutive time. Lavoy Allen registered a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Ramone Moore had 10 points and eight assists.

Carl Jones turned in a game-high 19 points to lead the Hawks (5-15, 0-7), who dropped their eighth straight decision. Ronald Roberts also got involved for SJU, finishing with 17 points off the bench.

Temple used a 12-0 run in the first period to open a 32-22 advantage at the half.

The Owl shot 54.5 percent from the field and converted 15-of-21 free-throw attempts in the second half, as they captured the 18-point victory.

Temple handed out 20 assists to just eight turnovers, in addition to dominating the boards, 38-23.
