Running back Jerome Harrison is coming back to Philadelphia.
The Eagles have traded running back Ronnie Brown to the Detroit Lions in exchange for Harrison and a 2013 draft pick. Harrison gained 239 yards in eight games as a member of the Eagles last season after he was acquired from the Cleveland Browns mid-season.
Signed as a free agent this past off-season, Brown was supposed to be the goal-line back the Eagles were missing, but he fell out of favor in Philadelphia and saw his playing time diminished after a particularly embarrassing fumble during which he ran into a pile and threw the ball backward Oct. 2 against San Francisco. He did not have a carry in either of Philadelphia's past two games.
Harrison, too, has seen a light workload this season, having not had a carry in the Lions' past three games and not played in the past two.
