Flyers Vs. Maple Leafs Score: Philadelphia Leads Toronto 2-1 End Of Second Period

The Philadelphia Flyers have welcomed the Toronto Maple Leafs to the Wells Fargo Center tonight (Oct. 24, 2011) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

At the end of the second period, the orange and black have pulled in front by a score of 2-1.

The big story tonight; of course, is the high stick injury to Flyers’ captain Chris Pronger, who was removed from the game in the first period after tasting wood from Toronto center Mikhail Grabovski.

More on that right here.

After Mike Komisarek left the Maple Leafs one man short for interfering with Brayden Schenn, the Flyers broke open a 1-1 tie when Scott Hartnell (with an assist by Daniel Briere) scored on the power play.

It was Philly’s second straight power play goal after Jaromir Jagr (assisted by Claude Giroux and Kimmo Timonen) snapped one in late in the opening frame to answer Phil Kessel, who put the Maple Leafs on the board just six minutes into the game.

Can the Flyers keep this one locked down without Pronger on the ice?

Stay tuned.
