Eagles Promote Chad Hall, Cut Jarrad Page

The Eagles announced today that they’ve promoted WR Chad Hall from the practice squad and released safety Jarrad Page. Hall was spent parts of the last two seasons on the Eagles practice squad and has managed to get himself called up to the squad in both seasons.

Hall’s call up may be seen as a signal that the Eagles aren’t entirely confident that Jeremy Maclin will be ready to go this weekend. The Eagles leading receiver suffered shoulder and hamstring injuries on Sunday against the Cardinals and did not finish the game. DeSean Jackson, who was suspended, will return to the starting lineup.

Page was signed from the Patriots this offseason and actually earned a starting job out of camp, but poor tackling and coverage saw him overtaken by Nate Allen on the depth chart. When Allen was hurt, it was rookie Jaiquwan Jarrett who started in his place, so obviously Page was surplus to requirements.
