FCS Playoffs 2011: Lehigh Earns First Round Bye. Will Face Towson.

The pairings for the 2011 Football Championship Subdivision playoffs have been released and the Lehigh Mountain Hawks have been rewarded for their strong 10-1 regular season. Lehigh received a first round bye and will travel to 9-2 Towson on Saturday, december 3rd. the game will also be televised online by ESPN3.

Towson is one of the surprise stories in FCS football this season. They have improved their record by eight wins this year to return to the playoffs. They wont he Colonial Athletic Association's automatic bid and faced fellow playoff teams Old Dominion, new Hampshire, and Maine. The winner will likely have to travel to No. 2 national seed North Dakota State in the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs.

Lehigh was a perfect 6-0 in the Patriot League this season and only lost in overtime 48-41 to new Hampshire, who also made the playoffs. The Mountain Hawks enter the postseason on a nine game winning streak.
