The New Jersey Devils have skated into the Wells Fargo Center tonight (Nov. 3, 2011) to take on the Philadelphia Flyers and at the end of the second period, we’re all tied up a two apiece.
After a scoreless first period, Zac Rinaldo broke open a 0-0 tie by wristing one in at 2:28 of the second stanza, thanks to an assist by Sean Couturier. Claude Giroux (assisted by Jaromir Jagr and Andreas Lilja) put the Flyers up two-zip just over six minutes later.
The Devils wouldn’t go quietly, however, as Adam Henrique and Ilya Kovalchuk gave Zach Parise the puck only to watch him backhand it in at the 8:59 mark. New Jersey tied it up shortly thereafter when Adam Henrique (assisted by Ilya Kovalchuk) found the net from 12 feet away.
The Flyers are hoping to make it three straight with a big win at home, but the Devils aren’t making it easy.
Stay tuned.
