Flyers Vs. Lightning Score: Philadelphia Struck Down By Tampa Bay 2-1 In Overtime

The Philadelphia Flyers skated into the St. Pete Times Forum on Wednesday night in Tampa, Florida, with captain Chris Pronger taking the ice after a six-game layoff due to injury.

It wasn’t enough.

Neither team was able to find the net in the first period, despite spending their share of time in the penalty box. It was until the second stanza when Philadelphia winger Scott Hartnell (assisted by Jakub Voracek and Kimmo Timonen) broke open a 0-0 tie with a power play goal at the 9:34 mark.

Tampa Bay answered in the third period when Marc-Andre Bergeron (assisted by Steven Stamkos and Vincent Lecavalier) scored on the power play to make it one apiece and send it into overtime.

From there it was all Lightning, as Brett Connolly (assisted by Dominic Moore and Pavel Kubina) needed just two minutes and thirty seconds to net the game winning goal.

Tampa Bay wins 2-1 and improves to 8-5-2 with the victory while Philadelphia falls to 8-4-3 in defeat.
