Flyers Vs. Lightining Score Update: Tampa Bay Leads Philadelphia, 1-0, After One Period

A goal by center Ryan Shannon has helped the Tampa Bay Lighting take a first-period lead, 1-0, over the Philadelphia Flyers at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA. Shannon's second goal of the season came about eight minutes into the period, which featured the Lighting (12-14-2) out-shooting the Flyers (17-7-3), 8-7.

Tampa Bay goaltender Mathieu Garon stopped the shots that he faced, while Philadelphia goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov made seven saves. The Lighting went 0-for-3 on the power play, while the Flyers went 0-for-1.

The Fylers entered the game trying to extended their four-game win streak. Philadelphia is playing without defenseman Chris Pronger, who was recovering from a knee injury but was today ruled out indefinitely with concussion-like symptoms. He is set to be re-evaluated on Dec. 14.

Meanwhile, the Lighting are just 5-10-2 on the road this season.
