Flyers vs. Lightning Score Update: Three Second-Period Goals Give Philadelphia 3-1 Lead Over Tampa Bay

Goals by Danny Briere, Jaromir Jagr and Wayne Simmonds has helped the Philadelphia Flyers take a 3-1 lead over the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning, which trails heading into the third period at the Wells Fargo Center. Jagr's 10th goal of the season was sandwiched between Briere's and Simmonds' scores and gave the Flyers a 2-1 with 16:48 to play in the second period.

Trailing 1-0 after one period, the Flyers (17-7-3) got a quick second-period goal from Briere, his ninth of the season, to knot the contest at 1 just 2:38 into the 20-minute session. Then, with about five minutes to go in the second, Simmonds netted a power-play goal to increase Philadelphia's margin to 3-1.

So far, Flyers goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov has saved 14-of-15 Lightning shots, while Tampa Bay goalie Mathieu Garon has saved 19-of-22 shots. Philadelphia is 1-for-4 on the power play, while Tampa Bay is 0-for-3.
