The Philadelphia 76ers hosted the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night in their second and final NBA preseason game. The second game of the home and home series between the two teams was a bit closer than the 103-78 win that Philadelphia picked up on Saturday, but the end result was the same. The 76ers swept the Wizards by a final of 101-94.
The game stayed reasonably close throughout and the Wizards actually took a 52-47 lead into halftime. The score was knotted 70-70 after the third quarter before the Sixers opened a gap in the fourth quarter. Once again, Washington managed to close the gap to 94-98 before Philadelphia pulled away for good with three Jrue Holiday free throws. He was 7-for-8 on free throw attempts.
Holiday led all scorers with 24 points in the game, also picking up six assists and three rebounds. He was one of six Philadelphia players to record double-digits in scoring, along with Andre Iguodala, Jodie Meeks, Louis Williams, Thaddeus Young and Evan Turner. Center Spencer Hawes had 13 rebounds.
