Tyreek Duren scored a game high 23 points as the La Salle Explorers downed the Boston University Terriers 70-53 at Tom Gola Arena. For Boston, it’s their third loss this month to a Big 5 squad (Viilanova & Temple being the others). The win moves La Salle to 9-4 on the year.
Duren, a sophomore point guard, had a huge all around night with 23 points on 9-14 shooting, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and a steal. The 23 points are a career high for the Philadelphia native.
Jerrell Wright and Ramon Galloway were the other Explorers in double figures with junior center Devon White grabbed 8 board and 8 points.
La Salle continues it’s four game home stand on New Year’s eve when the winless Hartford Hawks come to town, then the Explorers begin their Atlantic 10 schedule when powerhouse Xavier comes to town, followed by a visit from UMass.
