Last season under Eddie Jordan, the Sixers managed just 27 wins. Tonight, in their first game back from the All Star break, Doug Collins has guided them to their 28th. Not only have the Sixers eclipsed their win total from last season, but they sit just a game shy of .500 on the season. As Reuben Frank points out, the Sixers are now 7-3 in February after going 8-7 in December and 8-6 in January. That marks the first time they've had 3 straight winning months since 2000-2001. The Sixers are 25-16 since starting the season 3-13.
As for tonight, Jrue Holiday had 20 points while Thaddeus Young boosted his 6th man of the year credentials with 18 points and 10 boards. Rookie Evan Turner had a strong night with 15 points and 8 rebounds, but he was outshined by the man picked one spot ahead of him in the draft. John Wall had 21 points and 12 assists to lead the Wizards.
Wall's effort wasn't enough though as the Sixers crushed the WIzards in the second half. Going into the break, Philly had just a 5 point lead, but early in the 4th quarter their lead had swelled to 95-66.
The Wizards have just one road win on the year.
