Meszaros' OT Winner Gives Flyers 12th Straight Home Win Over Islanders

With :28 seconds left in regulation, Matt Martin equalized for the Islanders and it looked like the guys from Long Island might be ready to break the Flyers 11 game home win streak over them. However, in overtime it was the Flyers turn for late heroics. With just :17 left, Ville Leino found Andrej Meszaros at the top of the slot and he fired past Al Montoya to give the Flyers a 4-3 win.

The Islanders scored first, but the Flyers fought back in the second period to take a lead that they didn't seem likely to relinquish. When they extended their lead to 3-1 in the third it really looked like the game was over, but the Islanders fought back scoring about a minute and a half later to cut the lead to one.  The Isles kept the pressure on before Matt Martin, who had only scored twice in his last 50 games before tonight, tied it up with less than a minute left.

Richards, van Riemsdyk and Carter scored the other goals for the Flyers and Sergei Bobrovsky made 35 saves. The Flyers have now won 12 straight at home against the Islanders.
