Masters Leaderboard: Rory McIlroy Leads After Fantastic First Round

Rory McIlroy is the leader in the clubhouse early into first round play at the 2011 Masters having shot a seven under 65. The Scotsman outpaced American Matt Kuchar, who sits at four under through 16 holes. Y.E. Yang sits are four under at the turn. Ross Fisher and Brandt Snedeker are both in the clubhouse at three under.

McIlroy shot four under on the front nine including consecutive birdies on holes two, three and four. He also had back to back birdies on the back nine at 14 and 15. He finished the course with seven birdies.

Retief Goosen had a great start to his day with an eagle two on the first hole followed by three straight birdies to put him at five under at the turn, but struggled on the back nine finishing with three straight bogeys to come in at a two under 70.

Tiger Woods has had an up and down day shooting one under on the front nine, but opening the back nine with two straight bogeys to put him a shot over. He has rebounded however, hitting back to back bogeys on 13 and 14 to get himself back in the red. He's one under through 14.

Phil Mickelson is even through three holes.
