Rory McIlroy is still the leader in the clubhouse at the 2011 Masters after a near flawless seven under 58 round. It looked as if McIlroy would cruise into the second round as the leader, but Y.E. Yang is charging hard five under through fifteen. Yang hit an Eagle on 15 and has five birdies. McIlroy finished with seven birdies in the round.
Tiger Woods shot a 71 to finish a stroke under par in his first round. That has him currently tied for 23rd. He was one under at the turn, but back to back bogeys on 10 and 11 got the back nine off to a rough start. He was able to rebound with birdies on 13 and 14, but shot par on the final four holes.
Phil Mickelson shot a 35 on the front nine and is currently one under through 10.
The world's #1 ranked golfer, German Martin Kaymer had a miserable opening round finishing at six over par. He needed a fairly stunning 35 putts to complete course.
