Landon Donovan, LA Galaxy Come To PPL Park Tonight

The Philadelphia Union face the Los Angeles Galaxy tonight, at 7:30 pm at PPL Park, in a rematch of this season's first loss for the Union.

Galaxy midfielder David Beckham provided defender Leonardo with almost perfect service off of a long freekick, which resulted in a header goal for the Brazilian defender, beating Union goalkeeper Faryd Mondragon. The good news for the Union is that neither Beckham nor Leonardo will play tonight. Beckham did not travel to Philly with the team, as head coach Bruce Arena decided to rest the 35-year-old former England international for Saturday's showdown with Sporting Kansas City - and removes the man who assisted on both of the Galaxy's goals against the Union in the two games they've played. Leonardo suffered a season ending injury soon after the Union game.

The Union lost last Friday to the Portland Timbers, playing in their sixth 1-0 game of the season. Playing with a makeshift defense of Sheanon Williams, Michael Farfan, Gabriel Farfan and Carlos Valdes, the Union managed to hold Portland's high powered offense at home to a single goal.
