Roy Oswalt Returns As Phillies Finish Abbreviated Series With Cardinals

Roy Oswalt will make his return from the DL to pitch the finale of a short two games series against the Cardinals. It will be the last of an 8 game road trip for the Phils, who will return home for nine straight starting tomorrow night. Oswalt will look to prevent the Phillies, losers of three straight, from going on their longest losing streak of the season.

He will oppose lefty Jaime Garcia, who is off to red hot start to the season with a 5-0 record and a 1.89 ERA over eight starts. He threw seven innings of one run ball against the Cubs in his last outing and has pitched well against the Phillies in four career appearances, with a 1.80 ERA in two lifetime starts. Oswalt is 9-8 with a 3.19 ERA in 27 career starts against St. Louis.

The Phillies will go with another depleted lineup tonight as they'll be without Shane Victorino, who was injured against Atlanta. The team said today that he'll miss at least another day with a hamstring injury.
