AT&T National: Nick Watney Held On To Two-Shot Lead For Victory

There was no doubt that 22 year old Rickie Fowler was the fan favorite at Aronimink. Even the eventual winner, Nick Watney, agreed:

[Fowler's] obviously a very popular player. I think his time is definitely coming. I would say there were probably a few more Fowler fans out there. But it is what it is. Sometimes you play away games or whatever.

But it was Watney who won 2011 AT&T National 4-under 66 with a 2-shot lead over K.J. Choi. What was even more impressive was that Watney had a stretch where he went 27 holes without a bogey.

For the 30 year old Watney, this is his second tournament win in 2011. Back in March, Watney won the Cadillac Championship, which was held in Doral, FL.

Between his two victories, eight top-ten finishes, and 11 top-25 finishes, Watney has tallied a total of $4,189,233 this year. He is currently ranked number 10 in the world.
