Propelled by a game-best 19 points from junior guard Derrick Thomas the Drexel Dragons earned their fourth straight victory Saturday, as they downed UNC-Wilmington Seahawks, 79-57, in a Colonial Athletic Association game at the Raiford G. Trask Coliseum in Wilmington, NC.
Senior forward Samme Givens added 15 points and freshman guard Damion Lee 14 for the Dragons, who earned their 10th victory in 11 tries. The Seahawks (7-9, 3-3) dropped their second straight contest after rallying off four in a row.
Drexel trailed in the first half but used a 10-0 run to help take a 37-23 advantage into halftime.
Junior guard Keith Rendle scored a game-best 23 points for UN-Wilmington, which feel to a tie for seventh place in the CAA standings. Meanwhile, Drexel is now in a three-way tie for second place.
