Flyers Vs Islanders: Flyers Look For 27th Win In 29 Games Vs Isles

The Flyers seek to make it 14 straight home victories over the hapless New York Islanders. Both clubs come in victorious in their last games, and each is looking to build momentum heading into the All Star Break. Flyers rookie C Sean Couturier looks to make it 6 straight games with a goal.

The Philadelphia Flyers will play host to the New York Islanders on Thursday night at the Wells Fargo Center, seeking to win their 27th game in 29 tries against the Islanders, including their 14th straight at home Vs. New York (7:00 PM, Comcast).

The Flyers, winners of five out of their last seven games, have owned the Islanders at home dating back to 2007, during which they have outscored New York by 30 combined goals.

Philadelphia waxed Minnesota 5-1 on Tuesday night, and they'll play four games in the next six nights leading up to the NHL's All Star break.

Goalie Sergei Bobrovsky looks likely to start for the Flyers in net tonight, as he's posted a 7-0-0 lifetime record against the Isles, and has won each of his last two starts overall.

Rookie C Sean Couturier is seeking to extend his streak of consecutive games with a goal to six, which would break the mark set by teammate Matt Read earlier this season. Prior to his streak, Couturier hadn't netted a goal in over two months, and has 10 in total on the season.

Philly will need to slow down Islanders star C John Tavares, who has 17 points during his current ten-game point streak, and is averaging a point per game this season.

The Flyers trail the New York Rangers in the Atlantic Division standings by four points, and the two clubs have three remaining match-ups during the regular season. The Rangers host the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight at Madison Square Garden.
