The La Salle Explorers defeated the Rhode Island Rams by a final score of 80 to 66. The win improves La Salle's record to 14-6 overall and and 3-2 in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
Against the 3-16 Rams, this is a game the Explorers should have won, especially at home. The game was tied 35-35 at halftime, but the Explorers turned it on in the second half and cruised to an easy 14 point victory. La Salle was able to dominate the Rams in virtually every category today except rebounding. The Rams out-rebounded the Explorers 37 to 16, including 15 offensive rebounds.
Every La Salle starter scored in double figures, led by Tyreek Duren with 21.
The Explorers next game is scheduled for Wednesday, January 25 against the George Washington Colonials in Tom Gola Arena. The Colonials are 7-11 on the season and 2-2 in conference play.
