After jumping out to a 44-32 halftime lead, the Penn Quakers were able to hold off the St. Joe's Hawks for a 84-80 win Saturday night on their home court.
Senior G Tyler Bernardini led the way with 24 points, and the Quakers sneak over the .500 mark on the season for the first time in 2012.
G Langston Galloway had 32 points for St. Joe's, who has now lost to their city rival for the second consecutive season. Despite shooting over 50% from the field for the game and 48% from three point range, the Hawks didn't have the firepower to overcome their first half deficit.
Both teams will resume conference play in their next contests, as Penn will host Princeton on January 30th, and St. Joe's next plays Dayton at home on January 25th.
