St. Joe's Vs Duquesne: Hawks Travel To Pittsburgh

The St. Joseph's Hawks open Atlantic 10 Conference play Wednesday, as they visit Duquesne Dukes (7 p.m.).

The St. Joseph's Hawks men's basketball program opens Atlantic 10 Conference play Wednesday, as they visit Duquesne Dukes at the A.J. Palumbo Center in Pittsburgh, PA (7 p.m. on SportsRadio 610 WIP). The Hawks (10-4) are searching for their first league-opening win since 2008-09, while the Dukes enter the contest on a three-game winning streak and searching for their third victory over St. Joe's in four years.

On Saturday, St. Joe's had its five-game winning streak snapped by No. 22 Harvard Crimson, 74-69. The Hawks led by as much as 11 points, but couldn't hold off their Ivy League counterpart, who shot 52-percent from the field in the second half.

Despite the loss, junior point guard Carl Jones, who is leading the Hawks and the A10 in points (18.8 per game), netted a team-best 22 points. Sophomore guard Langston Galloway, who is averaging 15.5 ppg, netted 15, while sophomore forward C.J. Aiken is fourth in the nation in blocks (4.2 pg).

Meanwhile, senior guard Sean Johnson lead Duquesne in scoring (16.1 ppg), while teammate, senior guard B.J. Monteiro is averaging 15.2 ppg. In Pittsburgh, the Duke have earned two straight victories against St. Joe's.
