Sixers open preseason against Magic tonight

The Sixers will open the preseason against the Orlando Magic on Thursday night.

Eric Hartline-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Philadelphia 76ers will begin the preseason on Thursday night when the team travels to Florida to challenge the Orlando Magic. This will be the first of seven preseason games for the Sixers.

This will be the first game in the post-Dwight Howard era for the Magic, as the team dealt the star center earlier this summer as part of a blockbuster four-team trade that included the Sixers. Philadelphia's return piece in the deal, Andrew Bynum, will be unable to play in Thursday night's game due to knee issues. Bynum is not expected to participate in any of the team's seven preseason contests.

Head coach Doug Collins guessed that the starting lineup for tonight's game could consist of Kwame Brown, Spencer Hawes, Jason Richardson, Evan Turner and Jrue Holiday.

Thursday night's game is not scheduled to be broadcast on television but will be broadcast for radio and can be heard on 950 AM The Fanatic.
