Villanova got an oral commitment from Josh Hart, a 6-5 senior from Sidwell Friends in Washington DC, according to Philadelphia Daily News' Mike Kern.
"At the end of the day, Villanova just gave me a plan that was kind of too good to pass up, in how they were going to help me develop and be successful in life," Hart told the News.
This is the second commitment from a top 100 recruit that coach Jay Wright has gotten for the 2013 class in the past two months. Wright also nabbed Kris Jenkins, a 6-6 forward from Gonzaga High.
The Wildcats are coming off of a down 13-19 season and are forced to replace its top two scorers from a year ago. Hart added that last season's record did not factor into his decision.
"That's just part of basketball," Hart said. "You're going to have your highs and lows. They have a lot of tradition. I know they're going to be good. I want to be part of turning it back around."
