The Philadelphia Eagles have gained ground in the majority of power ranking polls following an impressive division win against the New York Giants on Sunday night. Coming into the game off a dissappointing loss to the Arizona Cardinals, many built Sunday night's matchup to be an early season test for the Eagles.
Their performance ultimately paid off in the NFC East standings as well as the power polls.
SB Nation's Joel Thorman bumped the squad up three spots from last week to the No. 7 overall position in his poll. Citing the team's demonstrative defense, Thorman looks forward to the next three weeks of games to truly determine how good the team is. ESPN followed suit, placing the Eagles at No. 7, which was two spots up from last week's ranking. CBS.com had the team at No. 8 and was encouraged by Michael Vick's performance, while NFL.com ranked them at No. 9.
