After dropping the first two games of the 2012 season, the Penn State Nittany Lions have won four straight heading into a road matchup with the Iowa Hawkeyes Saturday.
Penn State (4-2, 2-0), who is coming off a bye week, defeated Northwestern in their last contest, 39-28, to knock the Wildcats out of the AP Top 25. Quarterback Matthew McGloin has thrown for 1499 yards and 12 touchdowns in six games with seven of those scores going to sophomore wide receiver Allen Robinson.
Penn State is tied with Ohio State for the top spot in Leaders division of the Big Ten, however, both Penn State and Ohio State are ineligible for postseason play in 2012.
After losing, 32-31, on Sept. 22 to Central Michigan, Iowa (4-2, 2-0) has won two straight games over conference opponents, including an overtime victory over Michigan State last Saturday. Iowa also finds themselves atop their division, but unlike the ineligible Penn State, Iowa's Big Ten Championship dreams are legitimate. The Hawkeyes are tied for first place in the Legends division with Michigan.
