Alabama maintained its firm grip on the top spot in Week 7 of the 2012 USA Today Coaches' Poll as the Crimson Tide received 58 of 59 first-place votes. The No. 2 Oregon Ducks were the only other team to get a first-place vote after they demolished the Washington Huskies on Saturday night.
The rest of the top five has completely changed since last Sunday. LSU, Florida State and Georgia all fell in the rankings after losses. LSU is at No.8, while FSU and Georgia are Nos. 11 and 12.
South Carolina rises after knocking off the Bulldogs. The Gamecocks are the new No. 3, followed by West Virginia and Kansas State. Florida is at No.6 after beating LSU. No. 7 Notre Dame, No. 9 USC, and No. 10 Oklahoma complete the top 10. USC and Oklahoma return to familiar territory after earlier upsets.
Louisiana Tech and Iowa State make their season debuts in the rankings, as they are Nos. 24 and 25.
