Jason Avant Injury: Eagles WR out for game against Cowboys

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jason Avant is officially out for the game against the Dallas Cowboys after injuring his hamstring on Sunday evening. Avant is the team's emergency quarterback, and Michael Vick is already done for the day after suffering a concussion in the second quarter.

Nick Foles came in to replace Vick, and the Eagles would have no option at quarterback should Foles go down. Trent Edwards is on the roster, but is inactive against the Cowboys.

Avant had just one catch and was tackled behind the line of scrimmage on Sunday. For the year he has 26 catches for 284 yards. The seventh-year veteran has never thrown a pass in the NFL.

Foles has come in throw a go-ahead 44-yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Maclin in the third quarter. The Eagles now lead 14-10, but could be in big trouble if something were to happen to Foles. Philadelphia has to hope the rookie can stay healthy and do enough to lead them to victory.
