The Villanova Wildcats are out of the FCS playoffs following their 20-10 loss to the Stony Brook Seawolves.

The Stony Brook defense stifled the Villanova offense for most of the game, as the Wildcats only compiled 271 total yards. John Robertson struggled at quarterback, only completing 15 of his 31 passes for 135 yards. Robertson also threw two interceptions. The quarterback had a better day running the football, rushing for 85 yards and one touchdown, but all other Villanova runners only totaled 51 yards.

An injury to starting quarterback Kyle Essington forced the Seawolves to rely on junior Lyle Negron. Stony Brook took pressure off Legron by running the ball successfully, gaining 263 total yards on the ground. Miguel Maysonet rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries, while Marcus Coker ran the ball 29 times for 107 yards. Legron only attempted six passes on the day, completing three of them for 37 yards.
