The pressure continues to mount on Eagles coach Andy Reid as Philadelphia dropped their 4th straight game 28-13 to the New Orleans Saints Monday night.
It was a game which the NFL's worst rushing attack put up over 100 yards on the Eagles in the first half alone and the NFL's worst overall defense limit the Eagles to just 13 points. If this isn't rock bottom for Philadelphia, it's hard to tell what is.
There are a lot of bad things to point out about the Eagles tonight, but here's the stat that really illustrates the absurdity of it all. The Eagles had 1st and goal 4 different times in this game and came away with -1 points from them. They kicked 2 FGs, fumbled on another and Michael Vick threw a pick 6 on the first. By the way, Brent Celek fumbled the last and tipped the ball that was returned for the TD on the first. Not a good night for the Eagles TE.
LeSean McCoy was a bright spot for the Eagles carrying 19 times for 119 yards. DeSean Jackson caught 3 passes for 100 yards and a TD.
With the loss, the Eagles moves to 3-5 on the season and will play host to the 3-5 Cowboys next week at Lincoln Financial Field. Whether that becomes the location for a dysfunction vortex that swallows the universe remains to be seen.
