The Philadelphia Eagles have received a boost in the power ranking polls following their victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14, according to the rankings at SB Nation, ESPN.com, FoxSports.com and NFL.com.
Finally snapping an eight-game losing streak that spanned two months, the Eagles were led to victory by rookie quarterback Nick Foles, who managed to produce the game-winning touchdown as time expired on Sunday. While the team finally ended the slide, they were officially eliminated from playoff contention.
Regardless, they at least moved up in the power ranking polls.
At SB Nation, curator Joel Thorman boosted the team four spots in his power ranking to No. 28 overall. Citing Foles' development, Thorman wonders if it is enough to salvage the outlook on this season:
The losing streak is over. Maybe Nick Foles' development means this season isn't a total waste.
At ESPN.com, the team moved up three spots to No. 27 overall, while Brian Billick boosted the team four spots to No. 26 at FoxSports.com. At NFL.com, the Eagles moved two spots to No. 27.
